We have long held the view that businesses should give something back to the communities in which they work.
Our first foray into charitable work was to sponsor and support two of our team to cycle from London to Paris, a feat they achieved in just 4 days. Each of them raised funds for charities close to their hearts, one a children’s hospice in Northern Ireland, the other a charity supporting orphans.
More recently, Benchmark sponsored Hotbuckle Productions, a theatre production company based near our head office in Walton on Thames. Our support helped them to take their production of Charles Dickens “Great Expectations” on a UK wide tour. With Arts funding having been so badly hit in the last couple of years, we were delighted to support this venture into Regional Theatre.
We encourage our team to come up with ideas that they want to support; it could be taking time to work with a local charity, or fund raising for a specific cause, either way, it’s the matters close to them that we like to help.
Whatever the circumstances that mean you need someone working in stores on your behalf, Benchmark provides a solution that is not only cost effective but also environmentally friendly.
For example: B&Q and Homebase both have over 250 trading stores and sending staff to these stores for a ‘one off’ specific task, is both time consuming and expensive, even if you have your own resources. As Benchmark work in these estates all day, every day, we are incredibly efficient as a means of providing support. The miles we cover every year support the needs of dozens of clients, reducing a client’s carbon footprint and their environmental impact.
Monthly journeys are planned with care, ensuring time spent in stores is fully utilised. Of course, sometimes, a requirement dictates extra visits between scheduled calls, but with over 40 territories across the UK and Northern Ireland, we will always have someone close by, minimising your impact as much as possible.
